The debut of the new Flamengo coach is confirmed for this Wednesday night (01.09) against Cruzeiro. The coach will not have to serve the suspension imposed by the Superior Court of Federal Justice (STJD) in the game later today. Officially presented as Flamengo's coach last Monday (30.08), Silas was suspended for one match for complaining precisely in a duel with Cruzeiro, valid for the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship, when he was still at Grêmio.

He could have had to serve such a suspension in his first game for Fla, but the club's legal department, in the presence of lawyer Michel Asseff Filho, filed a request for review of the process and even requested a suspensive effect so that coach Silas could command the team tonight against Cruzeiro, in Uberlândia, for the Brazilian Championship.

Flamengo claimed the coach was not subpoenaed because he was fired from Grêmio at the time of the complaint, and the trial was held in absentia, as the Rio Grande do Sul club did not send a lawyer to the hearing. The request was granted, and the coach is confirmed on the Flamengo bench for the match at Parque do Sabiá.
