On another day of high temperatures in Rio de Janeiro, the Flamengo athletes continued training in preparation for the match against Vasco, valid for the semi-final phase of the Taça Rio. This Thursday (06) marked the penultimate day of preparation for the confrontation, which will take place this Saturday (08), at Maracanã, with the ball rolling from 18:30 pm.
Opening the on-field activities, goalkeeping coach Vitor Hugo led a training session focused on reaction speed with the goalkeepers. After muscle activation and injury prevention work carried out at Flamengo's Center of Excellence in Performance (CEP FLA), the other athletes went to the pitch, where they did physical and ball warm-ups.
Next, Flamengo's coach Zé Ricardo, along with his assistant Cleber dos Santos, led a tactical training session focused on their next opponent. The coach outlined the team that will take the field in the derby, making adjustments to positioning and instructing the players regarding the game plan for the match.
The group will close the preparation this Friday (07) with the last activity at Ninho do Urubu, where the group will remain concentrated until the day of the classic.
