Suspended, Correa praises the red-black team's efforts

Midfielder received a third yellow card against Vasco and will not face Corinthians next Sunday

Since arriving at Gávea, during the preseason in Itu, the experienced midfielder Correa has become a key player for the Flamengo team and a trusted man of coach Rogério Lourenço. And after his first few games as a starter for Flamengo, the midfielder will have to sit out the match next Sunday (August 08.08th) against Corinthians at Pacaembu.

Correa received his third yellow card in the Brasileirão in the match against Vasco and, therefore, is suspended for the next round of the competition. Upset, he believes he didn't deserve to be cautioned in Sunday's derby (August 01.08st).

"Anyone who saw the image realized it didn't hit him. It was nothing. Apparently it was a tackle, but it didn't even touch Rafael's leg. I knew that card would take me out of an important game. I've been on a yellow card since I arrived and I knew it would happen eventually. I know what it means to wear this shirt and I'm upset about missing the game," he said.

The midfielder believes that, even without him on the field, Flamengo will achieve a good result in the match against the competition's runner-up. According to him, the team from Gávea is constantly improving and will be looking for a victory in São Paulo.

"The team has improved, we played a good game and deserved the victory. We gave further proof that we are on the right track. We just need to be more precise with the final pass, with the finishing... The important thing is that we created chances. I know the importance of getting back to winning. We saw a quality team that is on the right track. The victories will come naturally," he concluded.
