Technique improves recovery rate from football injuries
With the implementation of the proton resonance treatment center, Flamengo's Medical Department surprises with the results and accelerates the recovery of athletes

Since April of this year, Flamengo has been using an innovative technique to recover injured athletes, the PLR System. Athletes in Brazil often suffer from tendon and muscle injuries, and because healing is slow and often results in long periods away from sports, the technique has brought hope to the Medical Department and athletes in accelerating recovery and bringing forward their return to the field.
Effective in treating chronic pain caused by joint wear and tear and in rapid cell regeneration, the technique has been surprising and proving efficient in accelerating recovery through non-invasive treatment with no contraindications, which can be combined with other treatments.
The PLR System acts on muscle tissue: Anti-inflammatory effect – Healing – Cellular regeneration; and on the immune system: General revitalization – Inhibition of infection – Regenerative capacity and cellular metabolism. An example of this was defender Juan, who, 12 minutes into the first half of the 2-2 draw with Chapecoense on May 26th in Volta Redonda, felt pain in his left thigh and was injured. In a quick intervention by Flamengo's Medical Department, all attention was focused on the athlete's recovery, and treatment was intensified and enhanced with proton resonance, using red and infrared lights with the PLR System. Thirty days later, on June 27th, having recovered from the grade II muscle injury in his left thigh suffered in May, Juan brought hope and joy to the fans and returned to work with the group, returning to training 30 days ahead of schedule. Satisfied with the excellent response of the PLR System, Fred Manhães, Flamengo's physiotherapist, intends to intensify the treatment with Emerson and will monitor the results with optimism.
