The coronavirus quarantine period has paralyzed Brazilian and global society. And at Flamengo, the players are taking advantage of the time off from activities at Ninho do Urubu to spend more time with their families, without forgetting the training they're doing at home. In an interview with FlaTV last Sunday (March 29), Thiago Maia spoke about this shutdown and the realization of his dream of playing for his beloved club.  

"The realization that I was playing for Flamengo finally hit me in the Guanabara Cup final. That's when I started, and the fans chanted every player's name, from the goalkeeper to the forward. My father filmed the fans chanting my name. I realized right then that I had realized my dream. And it was final," he emphasized.

The sequence had to be interrupted, but Thiago Maia still savors the moments on the field with the Sacred Mantle. 

- Flamengo was growing very quickly and we had to stop. I'm happy with the beginning, that's what I came to do until the end of my contract. It's air"It's a dream come true. Arriving at the club you love and already winning three titles. The players welcomed me very well and helped me adapt very quickly," he said.

The midfielder spoke about his goals when activities resume. 

"The goal is to maintain this year's streak. We've already won three titles and we want even more. We've had this break now (due to the coronavirus), but when we return, we want to win the Libertadores, which is a huge achievement in a player's career. The Brasileirão too, which is very difficult. I hope we can achieve both of these goals, especially me. Players thrive on titles. There's no point coming to Flamengo and not winning them. I want to make history, just like those who have won them in the past," he emphasized.
