22-year-old midfielder Thiago Maia is Flamengo's newest signing for the 2020 season. He arrives from Lille (FRA) on loan until the middle of next year. Previous signings included Pedro Rocha, Gustavo Henrique, and Michael. 

"I'm making my dream come true, and my family's too. I hope it works out and that this year we achieve many good things for Flamengo," said the player.

Discovered by Santos, Thiago's greatest achievement in his career is the gold medal with the Brazilian National Team at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. 

In an interview with Flamengo's official website, Thiago Maia took the opportunity to leave a message for the Nation.

"I'm very happy and rooting for the perfect marriage with the Nation. There will be no shortage of commitment on the field. I'll work hard to bring joy to the fans," concluded Thiago.
