Thiago Neves says he's eager to make his debut for Flamengo.
The player anticipates a "special" year with Flamengo and believes his time in Londrina is important.

Flamengo's team debuts in the Campeonato Carioca on Wednesday (January 19.01th) against Volta Redonda at Engenhão. However, Thiago Neves is not expected to be on the field. He will still need a few more days of intense work, both in physical preparation and in technical and tactical readaptation to Brazilian football, in order to perform at his best in the red-and-black jersey.
Flamengo's new number 7 revealed that his first days of training have been a little complicated, but that the motivation to debut as soon as possible may prevail and shorten the conditioning time.
"It's a bit complicated. The grass is high, the heat is intense, but for us it's important to have this type of training. Both Ronaldo and I want to get back to training with the ball and playing as soon as possible," said the midfielder, explaining that he had already been training in Rio.
"I didn't stay still. I trained for a week. For me, it's been a little easier. Hopefully, I'll be in good shape, really flying, in a week, so I can play. Staying still these days in Rio would be complicated when I get back. It was good for us to arrive here, make contact, start a friendship, and gel well. These days are being important for us," he stated.
The player makes no secret of his eagerness to make his debut soon, connect with the fans, score goals, and bring titles to Flamengo. According to him, 2011 has all the makings of a special year for Flamengo.
"I'm a little anxious to start playing, to feel the connection with the fans, but I think the year will be special, full of victories and titles. All the players want that. I know what Flamengo is like and everyone is very eager to show our football. We have a coach who knows what he's doing, a winner, and we're going to do our best to win," he concluded.
Flamengo's physical trainer, Antônio Mello, who has been working with the players separately, revealed that Thiago Neves should be in ideal shape to make his debut in, at most, a week.
