First week at Flamengo
"Coming here for the FIFA event allowed us to get to know each other better, with the staff and the players, three of whom were video conferenced. We then quickly implemented the offensive and defensive phases of set pieces."

On returning to manage a club
"The 2024 project, the pursuit of a return to important victories, from the perspective of titles, and then, an alignment of dates, so we can continue this work and have an extra opportunity, which is what drives me."

About Gabigol and Pedro
"They didn't compete with the same characteristics; they were different. One competed as a pivot, the other as a mobile player. That's why they can play together—I repeat, the balance the team can achieve."

About your good group management
"I watched the coaches and said, 'You can play the team, that's their job, but train me the same way and respect me the same way.' That message from Carlos Alberto Silva stuck with me and is my signature. And I do that because now, as a coach, I can pass that on to the athletes. Respect."
