Flamengo's squad returned to training this Friday afternoon in Gávea. Ahead of Sunday's match against leaders Palmeiras at Palestra Itália, coach Andrade led a collective training session for the red-and-black team.

In the first part of the training session, Andrade fielded the following players: Bruno, Léo Moura, Welinton, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Maldonado, Airton, Willians, and Petkovic; Denis Marques and Adriano. Zé Roberto, suffering from muscle pain, was spared from the training session. The reserves trained with: Diego; Everton Silva, Marlon, Rômulo, and Jorbison; Lenon, Toró, Fierro, and Erick Flores; Maxi and Bruno Mezenga.

In the second half, Andrade took off Welinton and Denis Marques and brought on Toró and Bruno Mezenga. With the changes, Airton began playing alongside Ronaldo Angelim in defense. With this formation, the starters scored the only goal of the session, with Adriano bursting into the box from the left and shooting across goal, leaving Diego with no chance.

Álvaro, with pain in his right knee, is ruled out of the match, which is part of the 30th round of the Brazilian Championship.

After the training session, Andrade said he has not yet decided on the starting team that will take to the field on Sunday.

"Welinton will initially start, but I haven't decided yet. Airton also trained in defense and could be an option, having played that position a few times. I won't decide the team until Sunday. We won't be able to count on Álvaro, but we'll have Adriano back, who is important to the team."
