With Ronaldo Angelim suspended for his third yellow card, Cuca fielded Airton, Welinton, and Fabrício in his starting defense. The red-and-black coach is confident of Airton's acquittal, as the player will be tried on Friday at the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) for his red card in the match against Coritiba in the sixth round of the Brazilian Championship.

The starters won the match 1-0, with a goal by Emerson. The starting lineup included: Bruno; Welinton, Aírton (Everton), and Fabrício; Léo Moura, Toró, Willians, Ibson, and Juan; Emerson and Adriano. Of the 11 players selected by Cuca, four were developed in the club's youth academy.
