In the first test before the match against Americano on Wednesday, and in the week leading up to the derby against Fluminense on Sunday at Maracanã, coach Andrade had Petkovic as a starter in his team for the first time. The midfielder filled the spot previously held by Vinícius Pacheco and, by all indications, will start against the Campos team. Adriano, meanwhile, was released to address personal issues, while Fernando, with thigh pain, was rested.

In place of the Emperor, Bruno Mezenga, scorer of two goals in the victory over Volta Redonda, replaced him in the training session. It was his goal that decided the match in favor of the starters: 1-0. In place of Fernando, who remained in the weight room, young Lenon trained. Willians, still suffering from ankle pain, also did not train and is practically out for the game against Americano. Chilean Maldonado, meanwhile, is recovering from knee surgery and walked laps around the training center pitch.

Another change was Juan's return to left back after serving a three-game suspension. Defender Álvaro left training early, but he's also not a concern, as is Fernando, who despite the pain, is expected to be in the starting eleven for Wednesday's match. Flamengo trained with: Bruno; Léo Moura, Álvaro, Angelim, and Juan; Toró, Lenon, Kleberson, and Petkovic; Vagner Love and Bruno Mezenga.
