In the final training session before the Campeonato Carioca final on Sunday at Maracanã, the starting players put in a strong performance, winning 2-1 with goals from Souza and Juan. Diego Tardelli pulled one back for the reserves.

Joel Santana fielded the first team with Bruno, Léo Moura, Fábio Luciano, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Cristian, Kleberson, Ibson, and Toró; and Marcinho and Souza. At the end of training, the red-and-black manager made two changes, replacing Ibson and Kleberson with Diego Tardelli and Obina.

Renato Augusto only did physical exercises at the club's gym. He is doubtful for the first leg of the final.
