With four days to go before the team's debut in the Campeonato Carioca, Flamengo returned to work on the afternoon of this Wednesday (16/01). Coach Joel Santana organized another training session on the Gávea pitch.

Joel maintained the starting lineup from the last training session with Bruno, Léo Moura, Fábio Luciano, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Jailton, Cristian, Ibson, and Toró; Renato Augusto and Souza. The starting team ended up winning the match 3-1, with goals from Souza, Renato Augusto, and Toró. Maxi scored for the reserve team, which consisted of Diego, Luizinho, Rodrigo Arroz, Rodrigo, and Egídio; Hugo Colace, Jônatas, Kléberson, and Marcinho; Maxi and Obina (Éder).

Joel Santana's only change to the starting lineup was the introduction of striker Obina, replacing defensive midfielder Cristian. With the change, Renato Augusto was moved to midfield. The changes paid off, and the starting lineup, which was tied 1-1, ended up scoring two more goals.

After the training, Commander Joel Santana praised the activity.

- "It was a good team. I liked both formations I tested, but the second part of the activity was a little better. There were two very strong teams on the field, as the reserve team had Rodrigo, Jônatas, Kléberson and other good players. The important thing is to work with all 30 players in the squad, so that everyone is fit to play."
