More than 10 people attended and cheered on the team in their victory against Atlético-GO.

Volta Redonda (RJ) - The Raulino de Oliveira Stadium wasn't full. There were some empty spaces, especially behind both goals. However, the fans who attended, more than 10, didn't stop supporting the red-and-black team for a single second. Songs of encouragement for the players and also welcoming the new coach, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, filled the Thursday night in Volta Redonda.
Flamengo received massive support from its fans. And, as expected, the players were grateful for this further show of affection from the fans. Forward Diego Maurício was one of them.
"I can only thank this wonderful nation. They make all the difference, always helping us. Today was like that once again, and we all became even more motivated," said the striker.
Women approve of the promotion – Among the thousands of fans present at the so-called Citizenship Stadium, a large number were women. After all, the presence of women at the match was encouraged by the Flamengo club. Women wearing Flamengo jerseys, as long as they were accompanied by a man with a ticket, did not pay to enter the stadium. An initiative approved by Beatriz Cunha, a 19-year-old student, who went to the game with her boyfriend, Pedro Henrique.
"It's always great to have the opportunity to see a Flamengo match here in Volta Redonda, even more so for free. It was a really cool promotion and one that could be repeated for games at Engenhão as well," he said.
