Last Friday (9/8), the CONMEBOL Disciplinary Court punished Flamengo for violating the confederation's rules, in the match against Emelec, in articles 13.2, paragraph c), and 21 TER. REINCIDENCIA, in the Disciplinary Regulations, and in article 25, paragraphs e) and g), in the Security Regulations, described below:

ARTICLE 13. OTHER INFRACTIONS
 
2. The disciplinary sanctions provided for in Articles 18 and 20 of these Regulations may be imposed on Member Associations and clubs in cases of incorrect or inappropriate behavior by their fans, including:
 
c) Flares, fireworks or any other pyrotechnic object.
 
ARTICLE 21 TER. RECIDIVISM
 
1. There will be a repeat offense when the perpetrator has been sanctioned, in the previous two years, for any infraction of sporting discipline of the same or similar nature.
 
2. Recidivism will be considered, in all cases, as an aggravating circumstance.
 
Safety Regulations:
 
Art. 25 - Prohibitions - Entry into the stadium and/or handling before, during and after games, the objects listed below are prohibited:
 
e) Pyrotechnic object of any type and/or form of activation.
 
g) Boom bombs.
 

As a result, the club was fined US$10.000,00 and also received a notice warning that in the event of a repeat offense in these quarterfinals – Flamengo had already been punished for the events in the 2017 Copa Sudamericana final – harsher measures would be taken.
 
To avoid further punishment—which could include the loss of home-field privileges in future CONMEBOL tournament matches—Flamengo makes a request to the Red-Black Nation: support responsibly. Your support is crucial for our athletes to achieve victories on the field, and your commitment in the stands is crucial to ensuring the club's continued success.
 
Do not throw objects onto the pitch, damage or vandalize stadium structures, or use fireworks, bombs, flares, or any pyrotechnic devices inside the stadium. Do not provoke fights with other fans, do not bring banners, flags, paper rolls, whistles, umbrellas, or laser lights into the stadium, and help identify fans who commit any type of infraction. The main victims of these infractions will be Flamengo and the Red-Black Nation itself.
 
The red-and-black fans are our greatest asset and have already shown that they can be decisive in several chapters of Flamengo's century-long history. The team needs the nation's unconditional support: let's play together once again.
