Goalkeeper Felipe, the new signing for Flamengo, is already getting a taste of what it's like to represent the biggest fan base in Brazil. The Flamengo goalkeeper, on his Twitter profile, has been receiving numerous messages from internet users welcoming him. A native of Rio de Janeiro and a Flamengo fan since childhood, the new number 1 at Gávea knows well the responsibility he will have in 2011.

Arriving at Flamengo after a year in which his performance on the field fell short of expectations, Felipe recalls experiencing a similar situation at Corinthians and managing to turn things around with the Alvinegro. Now, with Rubro-negro, he only wants one thing: titles.

"I want to win titles. I've never worked with Luxemburgo, but I know I can learn a lot from him; he's a great coach who's always one step ahead, and I strongly believe in that. I also arrived at Corinthians in a difficult situation, but we overcame it and managed to help the club. That's what I hope for here at Flamengo as well."

Thrilled with the fans' positive response online, Felipe reveals that he can't wait to have his family and the entire Flamengo Nation chanting his name at Flamengo matches. The goalkeeper thanks everyone for their support and leaves a message for the fans.

"They can be sure that I will honor this jersey greatly. I will work hard, dedicate myself, because I know the responsibility I will have. The people on the internet, sending me messages on Twitter, even before the training camp, made me very excited. The number of followers has increased a lot and that's really cool. I will do everything to please them," he added.

Felipe joins a large group of Twitter users at Flamengo. Goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba, right-backs Leonardo Moura and Galhardo, defender David, midfielder Petkovic, and forwards Diogo and Diego Maurício also have profiles on the microblogging site.
