Fans are Fábio Luciano's biggest motivation
By Flamengo Archive - inThe estimated 60 Flamengo fans will attend Maracanã this Sunday to support the team against São Paulo, the Brazilian Championship leader, is defender Fábio Luciano's biggest motivation. This Wednesday, in Gávea, the player expressed his excitement about the likelihood of Flamengo fans packing the Maracanã.
"We're mid-table, we'll face the league leaders, and the fans will still pack the stadium. All we can do is do everything we can to repay this affection with a great performance. Beating the leaders is important, but our biggest motivation is to show the fans what we can do best on the field."
The happiness of knowing that there will be a large number of fans supporting the team, however, is far from turning into excessive optimism.
"We'll face an opponent whose campaign speaks for itself. I have friends there; I played with Jorge Vágner and Leandro, and I was also teammates with Rogério Ceni on the Brazilian national team. They're a team that plays very well positioned and rarely makes mistakes, but we're analyzing the videos Joel gave us and it's up to us to try to discover and exploit any weaknesses."
