Toró thanks Joel for the good moment at Flamengo

Flamengo's attacking playmaker in this Sunday's match against Juventude will once again be Toró. Underused until Joel Santana's arrival at Gávea, the midfielder, who had previously played as a defensive midfielder, acknowledged this Friday morning that he's been experiencing a different moment at the club since the coach took over.

"I didn't play much, and when I had the chance, it was usually out of position. I contributed as best I could, but only now have I been able to perform well, and I owe it all to Joel Santana. The credit for my good form goes to him."

The coach, in turn, thanked the recognition, but made a point of praising the midfielder's virtues: "Toró was persevering, he was forgotten, but he didn't give up and now, as a quality player that he is, he is reaping the rewards, especially because he has matured. I've known him since the Fluminense youth teams. We talked, we found a positioning on the field that makes him comfortable and the results are showing on the field."
