Toró seeks to regain space in Gávea

The midfielder returned to the starting lineup after three months and is confident of a sequence of games for Fla

At Gávea since 2006, defensive midfielder Toró is one of the longest-tenured players in the current Flamengo squad. He's seen both great moments and difficult times at the club. His strong performance against Santos last Sunday (September 05.09) is proof of his comeback. Three months later, he returned to play against Guarani, started against the São Paulo team, and now awaits a run of games to regain his place.

"I was playing, got injured, and ended up being suspended for two games. Rogério thought it wasn't the right time, and now I have the opportunity. I hope to fight and win back my place," he said.

The player recalled that he had been out of action for some time due to an injury, and said that the team is ready to give the so-called 'something extra' to achieve positive results in the competition.

"I hadn't played for three months, I came back against Guarani, I played the whole time against Santos and there's nothing to complain about, we're going to draw strength from within and look for a reaction in the Brasileirão. It's time to work hard, especially because Silas has just arrived and we need to work hard," said the player, who knows that the fight for a position in the defensive midfield will not be easy.

"I played a good game, but we also have Maldonado and Fernando there, who are quality players. I hope he liked my football and can continue on the team," he concluded.
