Toró celebrates return to the fields

The midfielder was out of the last few matches due to an injury, but is now 100% and should face Goiás

A right knee injury has sidelined Flamengo for the last few games in this Brazilian Championship. But even before the competition was suspended for the World Cup, the midfielder has already recovered, is 100% fit, and has a good chance of starting against Goiás this Saturday at Maracanã. Without Willians, who has a broken arm, and possibly without Fernando, who took a blow to his right hand in the match against Palmeiras, the number 5 is expected to return to the defensive midfield duo with Maldonado for the match against Esmeraldino.

The player is confident and hopes to return on the right foot. According to him, it's crucial that Flamengo secures the three points to finish these seven rounds in the top four.

"I believe the important thing is to finish this first part of the Brazilian Championship with as many points as possible. The break will be good for getting the team in order. We know new players will arrive, some will also leave, and we'll have time to work. I hope to be in the top four," he said.

Toró also assures he has no preference for a tactical scheme. For the midfielder, with two or three defenders, the important thing is to play well and leave the field with another victory in the competition.

\

"I'm fine, calm and if coach Rogério wants to count on me, I'm ready. He hasn't decided yet whether we'll play with three defenders or a 4-4-2, but regardless of the formation, we know how important it is to win this match and I believe I can help," he concluded.

Coach Rogério Lourenço has not yet defined the team that will face Goiás, but the probable Flamengo lineup is: Bruno, Welinton (Camacho), David and Ronaldo Angelim; Leonardo Moura, Toró (Fernando), Maldonado, Michael and Juan; Vinícius Pacheco and Diego Maurício (Bruno Mezenga).
