Defender David dreams of winning titles with Flamengo and an opportunity with the national team in 2011.

David's ambitions for the 2011 season are not small. After a 2009 in which he was the hero in the decisive game for the sixth title, the defender experienced a complicated 2010 at Flamengo, but hopes to turn things around in the year that has just begun. To do so, he knows that he needs to work hard and stay focused on the goal of fighting for titles.
There are four competitions – four chances to forget what happened last season. That's what David is betting on. Combining coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo's winning work philosophy with the Flamengo squad's will to win, the defender believes the team will indeed be successful in 2011.
"I believe that Flamengo can fight for titles, yes. The players who are here have talent, desire, and Professor Vanderlei's work philosophy is very good, so we have to be confident. We want to forget 2010. We know it wasn't a good year, we didn't win any titles, but we can change that this year. We will compete in four competitions and we will do everything to make this year different," said the defender, who promises to work hard to be a starter for Flamengo this season.
"I still don't know if I'll be a starter, nor what the formation will be, but I'll do my best to integrate and help the team. The preparation has been very good, we'll have games against other teams before the Carioca Championship and that will be great at the start of the season," he stated.
Dreaming big, David promises to do his best not only to achieve his goals with the Flamengo jersey, but perhaps also with the Brazilian national team.
"I'm going to work hard in the preseason to stay with the team and help Flamengo fight for titles. My first goal is to establish myself here and then, who knows, maybe have the dream of playing for the Brazilian national team, get an opportunity... I intend to have a great year here," he concluded.
