Calmness is one of Flamengo's weapons in the final stretch.
The players know they can't let anxiety take over in the upcoming rounds.
By From the official website team - inIt's common for humans to become a little more tense during crucial moments in their lives. In football, it's no different. As the final stages of championships approach, the players' psychological state becomes highly tested. But in the Flamengo team, there's no room for anxiety with five rounds remaining in the Brazilian Championship.
Flamengo's right-back and captain, Leonardo Moura, believes that tranquility is a fundamental factor in enabling the team to achieve its goals of moving away from the relegation zone and securing a spot in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana.
"We can't let anxiety take over. We need to stay calm at this point in the championship. Getting four or five points will put us at ease. It will start with this Sunday's game, a really difficult game at home," he said.
For Leo, the draw against Ceará last Wednesday (November 03.11rd) should serve as a lesson for the Flamengo team. According to him, if the team maintains the good football shown in Fortaleza, they will achieve a good result against Atlético-PR this Sunday (November 07.11th) in Volta Redonda.
"On the field, when the ball starts rolling, what's done is left behind. We're in good form right now. If we repeat our performance from the game against Ceará at home, we'll be very unlikely to be beaten," he concluded.
