One of the major reinforcements arriving at Flamengo for the 2017 season, left-back Miguel Trauco was officially presented this Thursday (12) in the Victorino Chermont Press Room. The athlete, who was elected the best player in the Peruvian Championship last season, arrives to defend the Most Beloved for three years.

Football director Rodrigo Caetano revealed details of the negotiation at the beginning of the interview.

"Miguel Trauco came after his contract with Universitário, from Peru, ended, and his contract with us will be for three years. It was a study, a negotiation that lasted almost 60 days, before his contract ended. Everyone knows that Flamengo needed another player for the left back position, and, among the options that were lacking in the country, we moved to the South American market. Because he is young and has established himself in his country's national team, we understood that it would be worthwhile, especially since he is a free agent," said Caetano.

The athlete then answered questions from journalists.

I'm very happy to be here. Expectations are high, and I want to make history at Flamengo. It's a huge team, and that's why I decided to come here. I was free in Peru. I had many options, and I chose to pursue my career at this club.

It was very important, because I know him very well. On the field, we get along very well. I know his moves and what he can do. I'll try to make the most of that.

I haven't spoken to him yet, but I've watched videos of him since he's my teammate. We'll definitely talk on a daily basis. This is a good thing for Flamengo, as there's quality competition for the positions.

Fans can expect a lot of sacrifice and hard work. I dedicate myself to my profession. I enjoy attacking and being offensive, participating in goal-scoring plays.

I hope it goes well. I think the adaptation will happen quickly thanks to the South Americans we have in the cast. I arrived in Rio recently, so I haven't had time to see much yet. I'll take some classes to learn the language.

The training center is very good. It gives the player greater peace of mind, allowing them to focus solely on playing.
