Universidad de Chile coach criticizes Flamengo's defense and attack

After the first clash between the teams, at Maracanã, Rogério responded to Pelusso's criticisms

Without regard for respecting the opponent, a common attitude in modern football, Universidad de Chile coach Gerardo Pelusso opened up about Flamengo, days before the two teams' decisive match in the quarterfinals of the Copa Santander Libertadores. Having previously criticized the Flamengo defense after Chile's victory at the Maracanã, Pelusso once again attacked the Flamengo.

In an interview with the newspaper La Cuarta, Pelusso described Flamengo's defense as disastrous, but he didn't stop there. According to the La "U" coach, the internationally renowned Flamengo forwards are fearless.

"They are overweight, and the further we push them away from our goal, the easier it will be for us. They won't be able to reach our goal," Pelusso assessed.

At Maracanã, after being informed about the La "U" coach's criticism of the red-black defense, the Flamengo coach responded accordingly.

"He should talk about his team. But those who have a mouth say what they want. I, obviously, don't agree with his statements," said Rogério Lourenço.
