Coach talks about Flamengo's reconstruction

Rogério analyzes the current situation of the squad and says he is comfortable in command of the red-black team.

Some players have left, others have arrived, and Flamengo's squad is undergoing a major overhaul in the second half of 2010. It's a time of transition, in which not only the players, but also the coaching staff and the board itself are implementing a new philosophy. For coach Rogério Lourenço, this type of period ends up causing distrust among fans, especially given the fact that players considered fan favorites have left Flamengo.

"Flamengo went through a difficult period. Everyone knows the turbulence that occurred. Obviously, the fans were sad. It's not easy for fans to lose three idols overnight, no matter the reason. Bruno, Adriano, Vagner Love... regardless of whether they leave or not, they will always be idols," he explained.

Despite this, he believes that everyone currently at Gávea is capable of honoring the Flamengo shirt and asks that the Nação Rubro-Negra be, as it always has been, on the team's side.

"Flamengo is being rebuilt. The players who are here are doing their best and honoring the club's jersey. There are established players, players who want to make history... If after 11 rounds we are in seventh place, equal in position with fifth, it's not because it fell from the sky. It's time to give credit and confidence," said the coach, who also took the opportunity to express his comfort in the role.

"I have no concerns about myself. I work daily, it doesn't change. I've always tried to do my best. If Flamengo wins, it's three points, not ten. We have to be balanced. The most important thing is to be conscientious in our work," he concluded.
