They were crucial players in Flamengo's sixth Brazilian championship title, but they no longer play for the club. Even so, midfielder Airton, now at Benfica, and Adriano, a Roma forward, haven't forgotten their Flamengo family. The former, on vacation, went to Ninho do Urubu this Wednesday (June 23.06) to visit friends, while the latter, recently transferred, was also present, as he is improving his fitness at his former club.

The big news of the day was Airton explaining that he couldn't speak to the press, as Benfica doesn't allow it. According to the player, the Portuguese club needed to grant him permission, which he didn't have, and so he didn't speak to the reporters present at Flamengo's training session.

The former Flamengo midfielder has been in Brazil since the 13th of this month, but this Friday (25.06), precisely on the day that the Brazilian team faces the Portuguese, he returns to Portugal.

Adriano, in turn, released by the Rubro-Negro Football Department, will use the club's facilities to arrive at Roma in better physical condition.

Happy with the visit from his friends, David praised the family atmosphere of the red-black squad.

"It's always a pleasure to welcome our former teammates here. They were very important to Flamengo last year, and this visit shows how united we are. The squad is truly a family and very close-knit. Furthermore, all of this shows how great it is to play here. We've put down roots at Flamengo," he said.
