A sunny Saturday is one of the favorite days for people from Rio. Beach, footvolley, coconut water, cold beer... But far from the beautiful coastline of Rio de Janeiro, in the Vargem Grande neighborhood, the Flamengo players don't even want to think about having fun on this December 4th. On the eve of the last round of the 2010 Brazilian Championship, the Flamengo team is working hard, with many smiles and a lot of sweat too, to be well prepared for the duel with Santos, on Sunday (December 05.12th), at Vila Belmiro.

In the final training session of the season, the players' usual good humor and coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo's customary demands were the main features. The Flamengo players played a lively recreational game, a so-called "rachão," and then did a technical training session under the guidance of coach Luxa.

The match between Flamengo and Santos is the last one for the red-and-black team this season and is very important for the team from Gávea. The game could secure a spot in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana. If they win, and one or two teams ahead of them in the standings stumble, they'll guarantee their place in the international competition.

Luxa's team will take the field with some changes in this match. Some players who haven't been getting many chances this year will have the opportunity to prove their worth in this game. The probable starting lineup is: Paulo Victor, Leonardo Moura, Welinton (Jean), David and Juan; Maldonado, Fernando, Fierro and Renato; Diego Maurício and Negueba (Val Baiano).
