Atlético-GO hasn't faced Flamengo since 1986, and as a result, the players don't know much about their rivals.

Semifinalist of this year's Copa do Brasil and returning to the Brazilian Championship Series A after many years, Atlético-GO is Flamengo's opponent, this Sunday (18.07), at 16 pm, at Serra Dourada. An opponent that, for many players of the red-black squad, is new.
Some athletes have even faced Dragão, but wearing another club's jersey. Regardless, however, the Gávea team preaches respect for the home team. Goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba, for example, is aware of the qualities of Márcio, who defends the Goiás team's goal.
"I don't know Atlético-GO very well, but I know they reached the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil. I know some of their players are very important, like goalkeeper Márcio, who takes free kicks and penalties. I'll have to pay close attention," he said.
Goiás's situation in the competition isn't great. The team has only four points in the standings and is in last place. Ronaldo Angelim believes this match deserves even more serious consideration from Flamengo.
"Atlético-GO isn't doing well in the competition. That's why we need to be alert because they'll come at Flamengo with a vengeance. We need to stay calm, but we can't relax," warned the defender.
