In addition to strengthening the squad on the field, Flamengo wants to count on a player who has always made a difference for the team from Gávea, not only in football but in all sports: the Flamengo Nation. The club's president, Patricia Amorim, took advantage of her presence at Footecon to call on fans to embrace the team from the start of next season.
Passionate about Flamengo since childhood, Patricia knows well the feelings that the fans have for the club and understands that the supporters were disappointed with the year 2010. For her, however, nothing is better than this alliance with the 12th player to make the next season different.
"Flamengo's fans are a nation, they are an asset we have, and when they are by the team's side, when they sing, it's enchanting. Of course, the fans felt some of the things that happened this year, like the off-field problems, the departure from the Maracanã, so it ended up being a lukewarm year," said Patricia, recalling that, even in difficult moments of the season, the fans supported the team, as in the game against Guarani.
"Even so, when they showed up in large numbers, they helped a lot and we were able to overcome some situations. We hope to count on the fans' side once again to strengthen this alliance next year," he stated.
The president also guarantees that next year will be a year of good memories for the Flamengo fans and promises to do everything possible to make up for the results that didn't come this year in 2011.
"One thing I can guarantee: 2011 will be better than 2010. We entered this year with high expectations, having been champions, but the results didn't come. Unfortunately, only one can be the winner. Football has this fantastic thing where one year you're champion and the next you're at the bottom of the table, and vice versa," he concluded.
