A chance to show your work to your teacher
Fabrício and Lenon, youth players, will have the opportunity against Boavista, on Sunday, in Volta Redonda
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inDefender Fabrício and midfielder Lenon are two role models for many young players in Flamengo's youth academy. Since their futsal days in the pre-youth category, they've both been at the club, working hard and fighting for their place in the spotlight. And last year, it was their turn to shine. Both had good opportunities in the professional ranks and performed well whenever called upon. Next Sunday, the duo will have another chance to showcase their talent.
\With Ronaldo Angelim rested and Toró suspended, Fabrício and Lenon will start in the match against Boavista at 17 p.m. in Volta Redonda. Coach Andrade, who has confidence in the youngsters' football, expects to see positive things from both. He believes this will be a great opportunity to evaluate them and ensure they can be used for the rest of the season.
\"These changes in the team give me the chance to observe other players, like Lenon and Fabrício, who haven't played in a while. It's important to observe, analyze, and know if I can count on them when needed," he explained.
\Fabrício, who had his last chance in the starting eleven in last year's Brazilian Championship derby against Botafogo, can't hide his joy at this new opportunity. The player, whose transfer was even speculated about earlier this year, believes this is a chance to showcase his work to "professor" Andrade.
\"I still don't know if I'll play. Wellinton also trained today, and I'm waiting for an opportunity. If I really get that chance, I'll do my best to do well," he said.
\Flamengo leads Group A of the Campeonato Carioca with 16 points from six matches. They have five wins and one draw. Next Sunday, Flamengo needs just one more draw, against Boavista, to secure first place in the group. The team will have Bruno, Léo Moura, Álvaro, Fabrício, and Juan; Lenon, Fernando, Kleberson, and Vinícius Pacheco; and Adriano and Mezenga.
