BRASILIA - Among the thousands of people who watched Flamengo's 3-0 victory over Brasília last Thursday night (25.03), at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, one teenager left the match with a very special memory. Bárbara, 16, won the shirt worn by Bruno Mezenga in the friendly. A prize sought after by many fans.
The center forward sprained his ankle in the first half, so he didn't return for the second half. However, he stayed on the field and watched the second half, behind the Brasília FC goal. When the fans noticed his presence, it didn't take long for them to start asking for a shirt, shorts, socks, and even underwear—any kind of souvenir was welcome. Little did they know that Bárbara had already secured her Sacred Mantle.
"I spoke to him before the game, that I really liked him and if he could give me the shirt. He told me that if he came off in the second half, he would give it to me. When I saw people screaming and asking for the shirt, I went crazy, I ran out and then he took it off and gave it to me," she explained.
The young woman worked as a ball girl during the match. A Flamengo fan, she watched Flamengo play in her hometown for the first time. Excited, she promises to keep the number 9 jersey for the rest of her life.
"I was so happy! I'm a Flamengo fan, I was really looking forward to this game, and I'll keep this shirt forever," he concluded.
