A week to seek more balance
Marcelo Lomba highlights the strength of the defense and predicts evolution as the team settles in.

Flamengo's defense is the best in the post-World Cup period, having conceded only three goals in seven games. However, the attack is not one of the best, having scored only four goals in seven matches. And it is in pursuit of this balance that coach Rogério Lourenço will work with his team during the week leading up to Sunday's (August 22.08nd) match against Atlético-PR at Arena da Baixada.
"Ideally, we need a balance. Today, we're marking very well, defending well, and it's difficult to score against Flamengo. Our attack has benefited from the arrival of Leandro Amaral, Val is finding his rhythm, and with the team clicking, and Pet creating plays, Flamengo will be fighting for a higher position in the table," analyzed goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba.
The number 29 player believes, however, that it's not just the defensive players who deserve praise for the low number of goals conceded, but all the Flamengo players, starting with the forwards, who are putting in a lot of effort in marking.
"The defense has stood out, but it all starts with the attackers. Everyone has been very dedicated. Rogério implemented this philosophy and our team is preparing to soar high in the championship," said the goalkeeper, who revealed, however, that he is more concerned with victories than with big wins.
"The important thing is the three points. Sometimes the fans want a show, but against Ceará we won 1-0 and that was very important. We understand the fans' demands, they want reinforcements, they want a top-four finish, but the players are dedicated to delivering on the field," he concluded.
