United, Flamengo continues winning and in peace

Andrade praises the presence of high-level players in the squad and dismisses speculation of a crisis

Flamengo has lost just one match this year, has won two matches in the Copa Santander Libertadores and, this Sunday (14.03), beat Vasco 1-0. Aware that he is experiencing a good moment on the pitch, coach Andrade made a point of stating, after the classic, that the club is at peace, regardless of what is said in the news.

A winner as both a player and a coach, Andrade explains that nothing from outside will affect the unity between the coaching staff and players.

"Flamengo is at peace. That feeling has always reigned here. We have an experienced group, hardened by problems. They tried to fix a bad situation, but that doesn't exist. That happens at any club. They just end up smothering it," says the coach.

Andrade also praised the quality of the cast and appeared oblivious to everything that is said about them in the press.

"Bruno has deserved a chance on the national team for some time now. For me, he's among the three best goalkeepers in Brazil and was crucial today, once again. When we need him, he makes the difference. As for Adriano, I prefer to have a player who isn't a good guy, but scores 19 goals in the Brasileirão and decides games. I prefer him to any other good striker who scores five goals in a championship. Not to mention Vagner Love, Léo Moura, among others. We have a group of great players," explains Andrade, who believes he's close to an ideal lineup.

"We have one of the most technical teams in Brazil. Everyone agrees on that. However, we still need to balance this quality with our competitive edge. When we combine these two qualities, it will be difficult for any team to beat us. I'm trying to give Flamengo the face it needs," concludes the red-and-black coach.
