Uribe praises Dorival and talks about the match against Paraná
Athlete gave a press conference at Ninho do Urubu
By Flamengo Communication - inFlamengo returned to CT Ninho do Urubu this Tuesday (16) for the first day of preparation for the duel against Paraná. The day was focused on ball possession and finishing, as well as instructions from Dorival Júnior on infiltration plays. After the activity, striker Fernando Uribe gave a press conference and commented on the next challenge.
"I believe we're on the right track with these last few games. We'll have the chance to fight for the three points. We need to maintain the high intensity and the same attitude we had in the previous games this weekend. Our focus is solely on this game, and we'll be looking for the points so the team can stay in the championship race."
With two goals scored against Fluminense last Saturday, Uribe has earned the trust of coach Dorival Júnior since his arrival, being selected as a starter in both Brasileirão matches. "I don't think the position is mine. It was a decision the coach made upon his arrival, and I'm sure Henrique and Lincoln are ready to do their best. The mentality has changed, but it was a general change. The whole team helped and achieved the recent results," commented the number 20.
Crucial to the victory in the derby, the Colombian praised the moment experienced at the Maracanã, which had already been the stage for his first goal in the Sacred Mantle. "A lot of emotion. I was waiting for a match like this. I wanted to have the participation I had in this derby, and in games like this it's more exciting. I felt the joy of the fans and everyone who supports us. It was good to gain confidence and continue working."

The importance of Diego
"Diego represents a lot because of the quality of player he is. The decision to play him is up to the coach. Flamengo has a squad where every position has good players. Everyone is ready to help the team, and that's the most important thing. We all have to be united to play step by step in the fight for the title."
Change of posture
"It would be unfair to say that much has changed. What the team has adopted as a change is attitude. We've taken on more responsibility. We're in the final stretch of the championship and we need results like the last one to stay in the title race."
Performance improvement
"We're playing simple. That's been the key and it's helping the players. When we do things simply, we get there more often and are able to finish plays better."
Dorival's style
"We've changed and are keeping things simpler. We're now playing well in the final third of the opponent's half, and in a simple way. This helps the team create better plays and allows the attackers to participate more in the game."
Regarding Paraná having the worst defense in the Brazilian Championship.
"They're just numbers. As a striker, I don't have to pay much attention to statistics. Every game is different and every team is fighting for a certain goal. They're looking to get out of the bottom of the table and we hope to take advantage of that."
Vitinho's evolution
"Vitinho has all the qualities to play for big teams. I simply believe that the confidence the group is feeling has helped him. He was able to give his best on the field and we helped each other."
