At a grand celebration in the Gávea Grand Hall, Flamengo officially unveiled striker Vagner Love as the club's newest addition to the Rio de Janeiro State Championship and the Copa Libertadores on Friday. Present at the ceremony were president Patricia Amorim, vice president of football Marcos Brás, president of the Deliberative Council Silvio Capanema, president of the Board of Directors Mauricio Gomes de Matos, representatives of the player, and fans who packed the club's headquarters.

"This signing certainly reflects Flamengo's grandeur and stature. It began as a dream of Marcos Brás, supported by me, and has now become a reality. Flamengo needs players of this caliber to compete in the Copa Libertadores," said Patricia Amorim.

At 26 years old, the "love striker" said he is fulfilling a dream by wearing the shirt of the Club he loves.

"The emotion is overwhelming. I'm fulfilling a childhood dream by wearing this jersey. Only I and those close to me know what's going through my head right now. I'm remembering when I was a child and dreamed of being a soccer player. Now I'm here at Flamengo and having the chance to wear this jersey. Flamengo is my favorite team, and I've always wanted to play here. Everyone knows the greatness of the club and what it represents. I appreciate the board's efforts and promise to give my life on the field for Flamengo. I'll do everything I can to repay the fans' affection."

Quite emotional, Vagner Love stated that Flamengo has a team capable of winning all competitions in the 2010 season.

"I'll work hard to do my best for Flamengo. We're the current Brazilian champions and have one of the best teams in the world. The group is good, and we have the ability to win the Libertadores and then focus on the Club World Cup."

Vagner Love also commented on the new red-black attack, formed by him and Adriano.

"If you put it on paper, it has everything it needs to be one of the best attacks in Brazil and the world. The important thing is to train hard to succeed on the field. This duo will certainly bring joy to the red-and-black fans."
