With his contract expiring, Vagner Love, who is currently with CSKA in Russia, doesn't even want to think about leaving. A Flamengo fan since childhood, the striker arrived at his beloved club on loan this year and hopes this dream lasts longer. That is, if the Russians let him.
Flamengo and Vagner Love have a good relationship, and both want the player's stay extended for at least a few more months. However, the Love Gunner admits that negotiations won't be easy.
"I'm trying to stay here. We're still trying to figure out the best way to achieve that. I think I had a good Carioca and that we could have gone further in the Libertadores, and I don't want that to end now. I'll do everything I can to make that happen, but it really depends on CSKA," he explained, showing concern about a possible departure.
"My contract is almost up, but I can't see myself leaving here. I'm not thinking about saying goodbye. I'll hope for a happy ending until the end," the striker declared.
Regarding the situation of his strike partner Adriano, Vagner Love made a point of not getting involved. Aware that the partnership has worked, the striker can now only wait and see what the future holds.
"I wish everyone on the squad would stay here. We have a strong group that's great to work with. The attack with Adriano worked, even though some people think it didn't. We didn't win the Libertadores, which was our goal this year, but there's no regrets. In fact, Flamengo is strong and could very well go for the Brazilian title or a spot in the same competition next year," Love concluded.
