Val Baiano will play a training match on Thursday
Flamengo will face Artsul with reserves and non-players selected for the game against Avaí
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inForward Val Baiano, who will not face Avaí, is expected to participate in a training match, to be held next Thursday (July 22.07nd) at Gávea, against Artsul. The coaching staff's intention is for him to gradually regain match fitness so that his debut, which was scheduled for August, can be brought forward as much as possible.
The activity will be for reserve players and those not selected by coach Rogério Lourenço for the match against Avaí. In Val Baiano's case, it's another opportunity to assess whether the striker has the physical and technical ability to make his debut in a Flamengo shirt.
"He arrived in a much worse physical condition than the rest of the group, and we were working towards him making his debut in August. This was also to avoid injury. We'll wait and see. There's a training match here at Gávea on Thursday and he'll participate," explained Rogério.
The match will take place at 15 pm on Thursday and the Flamengo team is expected to consist of Paulo Victor, Everton Silva, Jean (David), Fabrício and Rodrigo Alvim; Lenon, Fernando, Camacho and Michael; Paulo Sérgio and Cristian Borja.
