Itu (SP) - Happy and wearing Flamengo's training jerseys, Val Baiano and Correa arrived at the Spa Sports Resort in Itu on Wednesday (June 30.06) to be officially introduced to the group and the press by executive director of football, Zico. They went through the usual process: putting on the jerseys, giving interviews, and, of course, enduring the banter of the relaxed Flamengo squad. After the welcome, they had to pass through the traditional Polish corridor.

With chants of "Vai morrer" led by forward Vagner Love and defender David, they relaxed, got into the spirit, and withstood the pressure. In good spirits, they headed to the press conference, received the red-and-black jersey from Zico, and celebrated the opportunity to play for Flamengo.

"It's a dream come true. They're my favorite team, and I hope to repay that trust. When Zico called me, I didn't think twice. I was already seeking my release from Monterrey, because I ended up not being used there, and I even gave up some things to sign with Flamengo. My plan is to work hard in the next few days, to debut well," explained striker Val Baiano, who joked about the Polish forward: "We were well received, weren't we?"

Correa, who played in four Brasileirão matches for Atlético Mineiro, celebrated the feat of staying in Brazil and did not hide his emotion at being officially presented by Zico, the greatest idol in the history of Rubro-Negro.

"It's a double privilege. Not just anyone gets the chance to wear the Flamengo jersey, especially with Zico's support. I still don't know if I'll be able to debut against Botafogo or only in August, but either way, it's a good time to train, get into top form, and help Flamengo when I'm fit," said the player.

Also this Wednesday, the new hires will undergo all necessary tests with physiologist Paulo Figueiredo.
