In the last Brazilian Championship, when he played for Barueri, Val Baiano scored 18 goals. One of them was against Corinthians, Flamengo's opponent next Sunday (08.08), at 16 pm, at Pacaembu. The striker, therefore, hopes to repeat his success against the black and whites and dreams of scoring his first goal with the red and black shirt.

"I scored against Corinthians when I was playing for Barueri, and they're definitely a special and difficult opponent to play against. I hope to score again. Sunday's match is only the player's second as a starter for the red-black team, and therefore he still needs to acquire more game rhythm to play his best football.
"Getting into rhythm is important. It's only my second game as a starter, but I believe I can already improve. It's a natural progression," he added.
