By Flamengo Archive - inStriker Vandinho has been instrumental in Flamengo's last two victories in this Brazilian Championship. In the match against Sport, he came on in the second half and scored the winning goal in the final minutes. Against Náutico last Saturday, he paved the way for victory, winning the penalty that resulted in Marcelinho Paraíba's goal.
-“I thought I did well against Náutico, I helped the team win and I felt good because I hadn’t played a full match for two months,” said Vandinho.
For the next match, against Atlético-MG on Saturday at Maracanã, the striker hopes to shine again at the club's home ground. The striker scored both of his goals for the red-and-black team at Maracanã.
"I've been doing well at Maracanã, having the luck to score goals, and I hope to keep that up against Atlético-MG. I've been thinking about seeing a packed Maracanã. I even mentioned to my teammates that if we beat Náutico, more than 60 fans would definitely turn out against Atlético-MG. I'm sure they will, and they'll be there to help us win. If we want to fight for the title, we have to win our home matches."
