Flamengo's squad is focused and nothing seems to take away the players' desire to beat Universidad de Chile this Thursday (08.04) and Vasco on Sunday (11.04). Both matches are decisive for the Copa Santander Libertadores and the State Championship, respectively, and the squad remains focused on achieving the desired results.
Midfielder Vinícius Pacheco assures that nothing will change at Flamengo, despite the postponement of the international competition match. The team's schedule has changed slightly, but the desire to win hasn't.
"I don't think it'll get in the way. We're focused on qualifying for the next stage of the Libertadores and the State Championship. So, even though this game has been postponed, we haven't lost focus and are ready to play whatever day it is to try to qualify," he said.
Sadness
Pacheco lives across the Rio-Niterói Bridge and expressed his solidarity with the residents of Niterói and surrounding areas. São Gonçalo still has many flooded areas, and so far, nine deaths have been recorded due to landslides. In Niterói, the death toll has reached 53, the highest in the entire state, according to the city government.
"I was very sad when I thought about the people who lost relatives and those who live in high-risk areas and lost their homes. It's difficult. We just have to ask God to comfort each of these families. I hope these people can get back on their feet after this great tragedy," he added.
This year, Vinícius Pacheco has already played 17 games for Flamengo: he scored four goals and provided nine assists.
