Porto Alegre (RS) - The draw against Avaí is already considered a thing of the past for the red-and-black squad. Midfielder Vinícius Pacheco is a firm believer. While admitting the result wasn't what his teammates expected, the player warns that he now has complete focus on Inter, a direct rival in the fight for a top-four spot in these first rounds of the Brasileirão.
This Sunday (July 25.07), the red-blacks face Colorado, at Beira-Rio, and the expectation is a complicated match. Despite this, Pacheco guarantees that Fla has a chance to confirm its good campaign as a visitor and return with points from Rio Grande do Sul.
"It was a result that surprised everyone. We played well, their team defended well, but we ended up conceding a goal from a set piece. These things happen. We're on a good run in the championship, despite the draw, and we plan on putting in a great performance here in Porto Alegre," he said.
Coach Rogério Lourenço, who had celebrated being able to repeat his starting lineup in two consecutive matches for the first time this year, against Atlético-GO and Avaí, will now be without two players: Welinton and Kleberson, who will be replaced by Jean and Rômulo. For Vinícius, the changes won't change the red-and-black team's desire to win.
"Welinton and Kleberson are important players, but everyone on the bench is waiting for their opportunity. Flamengo's squad is qualified, and I'm sure Rômulo and Jean will be great substitutes and will help us a lot. Flamengo always wants to earn points, both at home and away. We respect Inter, we know it will be a tough match, but we'll go for the win," he added.
