In the grand final of the Conmebol Libertadores, held on Saturday afternoon (23), at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, Peru, Flamengo wrote another beautiful chapter in its history by winning its second championship. Mengão, in a spectacular comeback, beat River Plate 2-1, with two goals from Gabigol, who made the dream of the immense Rubro-negra Nation come true.
After an impeccable campaign from the quarterfinals of the competition onwards, where the red-black team played beautiful football that enchanted everyone, the Mais Querido reached the final and, based on grit and technique, achieved victory against the current champion River Plate and, once again, reached the top of America and brought joy to millions of red-black fans spread across the world.
The game
The match began with Flamengo dominating the action, trying to find space to penetrate River's defense, but the initial pressure was ineffective.
