Early in the afternoon of this Tuesday (3), coach Vítor Pereira was officially presented at Ninho do Urubu. The 54-year-old Portuguese gave a press conference and answered questions from the press. Check out some excerpts:
Thank
"I'd like to thank you for your trust and repay you with commitment and dedication, which is what I always do. This great challenge has been presented to me by a club of this size, in a year where many titles are up for grabs. It will be a major professional challenge, and it is with great honor and responsibility that my team and I accept it. We will work hard to achieve great results."
Cast, structure and style of play
"One of the reasons that convinced me to accept the invitation was the quality of the squad. We have a top-notch structure, so we intend to create an attractive game together, one that the players and the fans can enjoy. 42 million is a lot of people together."
European school in Brazil
"For me, coaches don't have a nationality, they don't have an age, they have a competence. There are many competent coaches, which was a big surprise for me, because I hadn't followed the Brazilian championship with such attention. Here in Brazil, there's a huge tactical diversity; the teams play differently and with players with great technical quality."
Preparation for the Super Cup and the World Cup
"The work was very well done, with titles, and I won't just come in and paint the house again. I'll paint it my way, room by room. It takes some time for the house to be built our way. But my experience allows me to observe behaviors without wasting too much time, so that ideas can be aligned. I'll only be able to say when we're closer to the game against Palmeiras."
