The 5th round of the 2008 Rio de Janeiro Futsal Championship yielded good results for Flamengo. Of the seven teams competing in the round, they won six and lost only one, a derby against Vasco da Gama.

Playing at home, Flamengo's senior team faced and beat Canto do Rio, 6-1, in a game where the highlight was the opponent's psychological loss of control, which had two players sent off and ended up losing the chance to isolate itself at the top of the Championship.

The U-15 and U-17 teams had tough matches against Vasco. The U-15 team, despite playing well and having some control of the match, ended up losing the match 2-1. The U-17 team won 3-2 in a closely contested match between both teams.

The youth team continues to win. This time, the opponent was the weak Cordeiro team, which ended up losing 15-1. Flamengo remains top of the group with 10 points.

The youth teams also won their matches against Combinado 5 de Julho. The under-9 team won 8-3; the under-11 team 5-1; and the under-13 team 9-1.

Flamengo's girls suffered their first defeat in the 4th round of the Championship. Playing away from home, they lost to Canto do Rio by a score of 8-3.
