Playing at home, the youth futsal teams defeated the Mauá teams in three matches over the weekend, valid for the fourth round of the 2008 State Championship.

The U-09 team won by a landslide (15-1); the U-11 team by 6-4; and the U-13 team by 4-3. With this result, the three categories remain among the group leaders. Their next opponent is Grajaú, away from home.

On Saturday, the under-15 and under-17 teams took to the court to face Nilopolitano. With a full house, Flamengo emerged victorious in both matches, showcasing strong futsal. In the under-15 category, they won 5-3 in a tense match until the final seconds, when the red-and-black team scored the fifth goal to seal the victory.

The U-17 team continues to showcase its strong indoor football, defeating Nilopolitano 5-2, with Juninho scoring three goals. With this result, the Gávea team remains in the qualifying zone for the second round in both age groups. Their next opponent is América, in an away match.

The youth team debuted with a victory in the State Championship. The red-and-black team defeated Portuguesa 3-2 in a match played at the Mangueira stadium. The match was Flamengo's home ground. However, due to the punishment received after a disturbance in the Carioca final, which involved organized supporters, Flamengo was penalized with a five-match court suspension, forcing them to play their home matches on other courts. The red-and-black team will have the next round bye.

The Flamengo girls hosted the River team, but were defeated by a score of 5 to 2. The red-blacks' next opponent is the Montanha team, away from home.

The senior team, which didn't play this weekend, continues preparing for the derby against Vasco da Gama on the 11th. The match is for the lead. Flamengo is in third place, just three points behind group leader Vasco da Gama. The match, which will be played at São Januário Stadium, will be broadcast on Sportv.
