Fueled by their fans, who packed the Maracanã once again, Flamengo beat Corinthians this Sunday (03), by 1-0 and remain in the isolated lead of the Brazilian Championship. The victory came in true Flamengo style, a full house, at 34 minutes of the second half and a goal scored by a homegrown player. What a game, my friends!

Having recovered from injury, Felipe Vizeu came on for Henrique Dourado and scored the winning goal for Flamengo. After the match, the number 47 spoke to the press about being back in the team and scoring the decisive goal in the derby. 

“An indescribable feeling, I’m very happy with the goal. Thank God I was able to score again for Flamengo. Whenever I score goals it’s an indescribable feeling, it’s immense happiness. The most important thing besides scoring is to come away with the victory and the three points,” celebrated the striker.

On his way to European football, Vizeu is living his last days at Flamengo and wants to continue leaving his mark. He spoke about the conversation he had with interim coach Mauricio Barbieri before going onto the field.

“I talked to him and told him to count on me regardless of the fact that I had only recently returned from injury. I said I wanted to help the team and leave mid-year scoring goals. I was bothered by that, I always want to help. When I was about to come on, he said, 'Look, you have a promise to me.' I didn't even answer, I just winked at him and thank God I was able to contribute to the victory. We are a family and everything is for the good of Flamengo. Whatever Barbieri thinks is best, whether it's starting or coming on during matches, that's the spirit, to help Flamengo win,” commented Vizeu.

The next challenge for Rubro-Negro will be next Thursday (7), when they go to the Mané Garricha stadium, in Brasília, to face Fluminense. The match is valid for the tenth round of the Brazilian Championship.
