This Friday (24), the “Ninho” player, Igor Jesus, participated in the program “Resenha do Jogo”, on FlaTV, after standing out with the right to assist in Flamengo's victory and qualification against Amazonas, for the Copa do Brasil. The midfielder talked about his good phase, defensive solidity and much more. Check out some excerpts from the interview:
The kick
"The moment there was very quick. The shot was accurate, but thankfully it deflected and scored. At least I got the assist."
Arrival to the attack
"We usually face teams that defend low, so it's very difficult to create combinations inside to reach the final third of the field. It's something the coach has been telling us: whenever there's space, try to take a shot from mid-range."
Energy of the fans in Manaus
"From the moment we arrived at the airport and the hotel, the fans welcomed us with great warmth and support. The energy in the stadium was blazing. I'd like to send a hug to the nation in Manaus, who kept us at such a high level throughout the match."
About playing with references
"It's surreal playing with these guys; it's a responsibility. Sometimes at first you feel a little trapped, afraid of making a mistake, but you gain confidence, you get more in tune, and they give you enough freedom to contribute and keep things moving."
