Wanderley wants to gain the trust of the group and of Luxa.
The striker trained with Flamengo for the first time on Friday and is expected to start in Sunday's game.

Wanderley arrived in Londrina to join the Flamengo squad on Thursday night (January 06.01th). On Friday (January 07.01th), he had a physical training session, his first with his new club. He gave a press conference, saying he was arriving quietly and fighting for his place in the sun. But, sooner than he expected, a chance to shine is appearing. This Sunday (January 09.01th), the striker is expected to start in Flamengo's friendly against Londrina, at 16 pm, at the Estádio do Café.
In Saturday's training session (January 08.01th), Vanderlei Luxemburgo surprised everyone by placing the 22-year-old center forward in the starting lineup, alongside Deivid in attack. Wanderley himself explained that he was surprised, but promised to respond with great effort to seize the opportunity.
"I was expecting it differently. Slowly, getting to know the group, but since I was given this chance to be a starter, I'm happy. Everyone is feeling a bit heavy in their legs because of the intense preseason, but it was important to gain the confidence of the group, the coach, and to get to know everyone a little better. This helps a lot for me to be in the best shape for the match," he stated.
Recommended by Luxemburgo, the striker believes he will have a good opportunity to prove himself not only to him but also to the entire group and the Flamengo fans, who want to know what he is capable of.
"It will be great to play if this happens. This is important for the athlete. Coach Luxemburgo talked a lot with the group, put together the team in the way he thought best, and I tried to put in the effort, to show willingness to prove my worth on the field," he added.
Flamengo is expected to field the following lineup: Felipe, Leonardo Moura, David, Welinton and Egídio; Willians, Fernando, Renato and Vander; Wanderley and Deivid.
