At just 19 years old, defender Welinton will play his fourth professional match for Flamengo on Saturday against Tigres. The player, who has shown great personality and quality, was full of praise for his defensive partner, captain Fábio Luciano.

"Fábio Luciano is crucial because he imparts a wealth of experience. You can learn a few things, like shortcuts on the field, coverage, or timing the ball. I admire his simplicity as a person and as a professional."

Welinton said that his life has changed a lot since he debuted for the red-black team's main team.

"Everything has changed. I used to walk around the corner more calmly. Now, people call my name and greet me. I'm still at the beginning. We always have room for improvement: sometimes it's a long ball, a lob, or a crucial foul that we have to avoid."

Showing great humility, Welinton stated that the starting position belongs to defender Ronaldo Angelim, who is recovering from surgery on his right thigh and returned to training this morning with the group.

-"I'm happy that Ronaldo Angelim is back. The position is his and I was able to contribute a little while he was away."
